UN Helicopter Shot Down Over South Sudan, Three Feared Dead

South Sudanese local government officials claim three members of the crew died when the craft was shot down by rebels. The U.N. has not confirmed any deaths, but has sent a rescue team.

The United Nations confirmed today that one of its Mi-8 cargo helicopters crashed today in near Bentiu, a conflct zone in rural South Sudan.

Sudan People's Liberation Army soldiers "The government of South Sudan is profoundly disturbed by the loss of three UNMISS members who dedicated their lives to the service of humanity," Wek said. Of these casualties, one person is said to have been badly injured but survived. The U.N. did not immediately confirm any deaths.
Just a day ago the two sides agreed, with the help of Ethiopia, to move toward a cease-fire and establish a unity government in the coming weeks.

EBOLA: Salt Water Kills Three In Bauchi State

At least three people have been reported to have died, while a pregnant woman also landed in hospital, as a result of excessive intake of salt for the prevention of Ebola Virus in Bauchi State.   According to Vanguard report, an old man in Misau local council and three other adults in Bigi , Gudum Sayawa, and Bayara village, suburbs in Bauchi, northern Nigeria, were the victims of the salt intake exercise An unnamed source was quoted to have said that one of the deceased, Mr. Paul Bigi, 74, drank more than two cups of salted water and also rub some on his body after bathing with the salt water as advised by his children. “Less than one hour after he took the salt water, Baba started deficating non-stop and he died in the morning around 7am,” the source said.
