Enugu Dep Gov, Onyebuchi, slumps before Impeachment Panel

The deputy Governor of Enugu state, Sunday Onyebuchi this morning August 13th slumped before the impeachment panel set up to investigate allegations of gross misconduct and unlawful rearing of chickens in his official residence leveled against him by the State House of Assembly.

According to Vanguard, the Deputy governor arrived the panel sitting at about 9am in company of his wife Mrs Nneka Onyebuchi, his children as well as his legal team. He began his testimony in front of the panel around 9.30am but three hours later, around 11.35am, he slumped and was immediately rushed out of the premises to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.

Abeg this impeachment process should be withdrawn before this man die and leave his wife and childrenoooo.

‘Ebola not caused by witchcraft’

A rights group in the United Kingdom (UK), the Witchcraft and Human Rights Information Network (WHRIN), has called for more enlightenment on the Ebola virus. WHRIN’s Executive Director Gary Foxcroft said superstitious beliefs and inadequate health facilities may lead to the spread of the virus. The activist urged the United Nations (UN) bodies, governments, aid agencies and civil society organisations (CSOs) to demystify the causes of the outbreak. He noted that proper enlightenment would enable communities to understand that the disease is not caused by witchcraft to curb its spread. “Ebola is not caused by witchcraft. Lagos now has 10 Ebola cases: health minister

(LAGOS) Nigeria’s Lagos has 10 confirmed cases of Ebola, up from seven at the last count, although only two so far have died, including the Liberian who brought the virus in, the health minister said on Monday. All were people who had had primary contact with Patrick Sawyer, who collapsed on arrival at Lagos airport on July 25th and later died, Health Minister Onyebuchi Chukwu told a news conference. A nurse who treated him not knowing what it was and without protective gear also died. “As at today, 77 primary and secondary contacts of the index case have been placed under surveillance or isolation,” he added. The latest case was also a nurse who had had primary contact with Sawyer. “When she got ill, we then brought her into isolation. We just tested her over the weekend.” She had been at home with her husband, who was also now under surveillance, Chukwu said.
