Arsenal 3-0 Man City: Gunners Claim First Trophy of the Season (This could be a victory to Champion league for this season)

Arsenal clinched their first Community Shield trophy since 2004 with a 3-0 defeat of Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey and a 25-yards stunner by Olivier Giroud consigned the champions to their first loss in the Premier League curtain-raiser.
The Gunners made six changes from the side which started the FA Cup final win over Hull in May, with new boys Calum Chambers, Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy making their debuts.

City were without 8 players from the start list against West Ham on the last day of the 2013/14 triumphant campaign, with goalkeeper Willy Cabalero, who joined from Malaga in the summer, and midfielder Fernando taking their bows, as many others involved in the World Cup knockout stages were rested.
City have never won the Community Shield at the Wembley stadium and in the absence of a host of their stars, could only try to backtrack on two first-half goals in the opening 15 minutes of the final period before the North Londoners finished off on a grande plot.

Spanish midfielder Cazorla scored his second Wembley goal in quick successions on 21 minutes, finding the bottom corner with his left-footed shot.
Yaya Sanogo missed out on an opportunity to score his first Arsenal goal in 15 competitive games four minutes later following a nice run down the flank by Carzola, who sent a neat pass through the middle to the Frenchman, but his speculative short skidded wide.
Sanogo would later make amends, this time sending a precise pass to Welshman, Ramsey, to smash a powerful shot past Cabalero just three minutes to the break.

City came back from the break looking to build up pressure on the attack, with the introduction of Jesus Navas causing much trouble for Kieran Gibbs in the wings.
Coach Manuel Pellegrini’s men came closest to reducing their deficit in the 52nd minute, but Stevan Jovetic’s knocked-down effort came off the woodwork. Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was well on alert to push the Montenegrin’s swerving shot from 15 yards clear three minutes later.
While City searched for a goal but got nowhere near success, it was Arsenal who closed out the contest with an effort out of the blues.
Half-time substitute Giroud dipped a left-footed strike into the top corner of the net from 25-yards to seal victory a minute after the hour mark.

Polish goalkeeper Szczesny came up with some top-class saves in the closing 25 minutes of the encounter to help his side to victory.
The victory is just Arsenal’s second (L4, D3) in 9 matches against the Citizens, who were lacking in depth and creativity on the day.
Players’ reactions.

Scorer of Arsenal’s second goal, Ramsey, speaking to BT Sport, on his second strike in Wembley since last season’s FA Cup final
: “It has not been a bad place for me or Santi Cazorla, we want to play here every week! I have just become a lot more composed in front of goal, realising I have more time than I did in the past. I am making good contact and being composed.”
Olivier Giroud said: “I felt I could shoot, I was a bit lucky but I did what I really wanted to do and score.”
Manchester City captain, Vincent Kompany, who didn’t feature, tweeted: “Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose but what remains is the chance to do better another day.. Cannot wait for the Prem to start. #MCFC”

Gunners, una try jore!
