A Poem In Honour Of My Friend, Florence Okon On Her Birthday.

She Celebrates Plus One today(25/08/2014)

Time flies, the world moves,

The earth revolves about its axis,

but the Supreme remains, Unperturbs, unstruggle,

But statically dynamic.

We move, live and stay,

Oh with the Nature, she is gentle, calm and quiet,

Calculative in creating boundaries,

The boundaries that set the peace, and the stability of human race.

Just Plus One, yes Plus One, long long time ago,

Still fresh like yesterday,

Deep in the innermost of Mum and Dad,

Wao, painfully laboured with peace, fulfillment and commitment,

But with deep appreciation,

For the gift of a star, princess, queen, …

Yes I saw her, I saw  her, I saw her,

Oh God, she has come like manna to bless her generation,

So beautiful, pure and innocent,

Welcome by the mother earth into this chaotic world,

But with a mission to bring gentility in this perplexity,

Oh my little angel, princess, queen,

Exclaimed by the bearer.

Oh I look from a distance,

Now tell me, what do you see?

Hmmm! Prosperous, flourishing with much dedication,

Yes! Firm with her decision,

She says, always, “I follow my heart positively to great accomplishment”,

Yes! She is Plus One today, I love and admire,

So young and tough a lady, born to change,

Yes! To change humanity,

Wonderful, knowing you as a friend,

though at a distance.

Looking for space, oh so much, so much, so much,

how can I express her attributes?

You oh paper and pen,

You have no space and ink for this,

Oh my dear, though far from your presence,’

I pray, good health, heart fulfillment,’

Love, cherish by family and friends,

Happy Birthday at Plus One today,

Loving and cherishing you, Florence.

The Great Chinese Exodus Many Chinese are leaving for cleaner air, better schools and more opportunity. But Beijing is keeping its eye on them.

A recent report showed that 64% of China's rich are either migrating overseas or have plans to leave the country. Political scientist James To, who has written a book on the subject, tells the WSJ's Deborah Kan how the Chinese government is using propaganda campaigns abroad to ensure loyalty from overseas Chinese. Even when the emperors did their utmost to keep them at home, the Chinese ventured overseas in search of knowledge, fortune and adventure. Manchu Qing rulers thought those who left must be criminals or conspirators and once forced the entire coastal population of southern China to move at least 10 miles inland. But even that didn't put an end to wanderlust. Sailing junks ferried merchants to Manila on monsoon winds to trade silk and porcelain for silver. And in the 19th century, steamships carried ar...
